Negative Symptoms
Involve losses, or deficits, in certain domains
Affective flattening
severe reduction or absence of emotional responsiveness to the environment; may speak in monotone and avoid eye contact with others; may actually be experiencing emotion they just can’t express
Anhedonia- loss of interest in everything in life
Alogia
poverty of speech; presumably thought to be caused by lack of thinking but may be caused in part by lack of motivation
Avolition
Inability to persist at common, goal-oriented activities
